Define and Explain Organizational Behavior

Organizational Behavior is the most important part of the circle of organization to produce any decision, to motivate of employee in all situation, to maximize profit and etc. Before toward the inside of the Organizational behavior topic, we have to review what manager be able to understand what will do, and what the absolutely matter of the interpersonal skill to managerial effectiveness, like of the management function, management roles and a view category of the management skills.

The Main Category of Manager will Do

The main category have to discuss that in organizational behavior a manager has knowing what he/she will do. on these occasion have three category , these are management function, management roles and management skills.

Management Function

Henry fayol’s assumed has five element of the Management Function are ;
1. Prevoyance ( Plan) is examing the future and drawing up a plan of action. The elements of strategy.
2. To organize. Build up the structure, both material and human, of the undertaking.
3. To Command. Maintain the activity among the personal
4. To Coordinate. Binding together , unifying and harmonizing all activity and effort.
5. To control. Seeing that everything occurs in conformity with established rule and expressed command
All of the five elements has condensed these to four being Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling, and these are popular function in every circumstances and four of these has same meaning above of fayol’s passages. It was cleared to answer what the category of the manager do.

Management roles

To gather the many demands of performing their functions, managers assume multiple roles. A role is an organized set of behaviors. Henry Mintzberg has identified ten roles common to the work of all managers. The ten roles are divided into three groups: interpersonal roles, informational roles, and decisional roles. Interpersonal roles ; have three categories of the Interpersonal roles are A Figurehead, well instead of figurehead he/she does make a policy as part of the manager to movement on his/her employee thus getting authority of them. A leadership, this role including hiring, training, motivating, and disciplining employees. The last one is The Liaison Mintzberg described this activity as contacting outsiders who provide the managers with information Informational Roles ; has three categories if we sub define of informational roles are Monitor role, disseminator role, and a spokesperson through of conclusion as process information. Decisional Roles ; finally Mintzberg identified four roles that resolve around the making of choice, these are Entrepreneur role, Disturbance handler, Resource allocator and Negotiator then all of these can define as use of information

management skills

considering to activity of manager able to look at the skills and competencies has achieved of goals. Robert Katzs has identified three essential management skills are Technical skills, Human Skills and conceptual skills


Define of Organizational Behavior (OB)

Organizational behavior is a field of study that investigates the impact that individual groups and structure have on behavior within organizations for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organizational effectiveness.

Explain of the definition on this, wherein Organizational behavior is a field study, it does mean has three determinants of behavior in organizations ; individual, group, structure theirs collaborate to applies the knowledge gained about individuals, groups, and the effect of structure on behavior in order to make organization work more effectively.

OB is concerned with the study of what people do in an organization and how that behavior affects the performance of organization, that also related to employment situations it is like such as jobs, work, absenteeism, employment turn over, productivity, human performance and management.
Again it can be said that OB is like a tool, by which the mgt. teams are understood or justified the nature of employees and take an appropriate decision to lead the organization purport.
At last we can say that OB is valuable for examining the dynamics of relationships with the small groups, both formal teams and informal groups.
Meanwhile, There are some goals of organizational behavior which are as follows:
Describe: The first goal is to describe, systematically how people behave under a variety of conditions. Achieving this goal allows managers to communicate about human behavior at work using a common language.
Understand: A second goal is to understand any people behave as they do. The managers would be frustrated if they could talk about behavior of their employees, but not understand the reasons behind those actions.
Predict: The managers would have capacity to predict which employees might be dedicated and productive or which ones might have absent, cause problem. And thus the managers could take preventive actions.
Control: The final goal of OB is to control and develop some human activity at work. Since managers are held responsible for performance outcome, they are vitally interested in being able to make an impact on employee behavior, skill development, team effort, and productivity. Managers need to be able to improve results through the actions they and their employees take, and organizational behavior can aid them in their pursuit of this goal.
